A BRILLIANTLY successful night for local people who want to improve the health of their community was held recently in West Devon. More than 45 people attended the innovative event in Tavistock Town Hall to meet the area?s healthy living promoting 5X30 team and decide how they could work together to create more opportunities for people to get active in the Tavistock and surrounding areas. The idea for the 5X30 Project came from the World Health Organisation recommendation that in order to maintain good health, an adult should do 30 minutes of physical activity, five times a week, an hour a day for children and teenagers. People who attended the event came from all walks of life from a street-dance instructor to an over 50?s support group representative, and are now part of the 5X30 Network. The event tied in with the recent launch of the new 5X30 website.
