BUS services 55 and 56 in the Yelverton area are to see some improvement from this week, following the awarding of the contract for operation to Plymouth City Bus for a further five years.
The services will still provide an hourly link from surrounding villages to Yelverton on Monday to Saturday daytimes, but service 55 will split into 55 and 55A to operate both ways around the Crapstone, Buckland and Milton Combe loop.
Both 55 and 55A will serve Golf Links Road, Rock shelter and Axtown to replace buses withdrawn by First Western National, and service 56 will split into routes 56 and 56A to operate both ways around the Walkhampton, Dousland and Meavy loop.
The changes took effect on Monday. Operations manager Ian Miller thanked passengers for their continued use of the service and for their ideas for improvements passed through their regular driver, Dave.
