FORMER members, leaders and friends of the 4th Tavistock Brownie Pack have been invited to celebrate the group?s 50th birthday this Sunday (November 25). It was 50 years ago this month that the group was first registered and to mark the anniversary it is holding a special party. The celebrations will be held in the lower hall of Tavistock Methodist Church and the party will be open for people to drop in for a cup of tea and a chat between 2pm and 4pm. There will be an exhibition, including old photographs, record books and badges which are part of the pack?s history. The current guider, Kate Harding, said: ?The pack would be especially interested to hear from women who were members or leaders between 1957 and 1972 as I am short of memorabilia from that period.? At the anniversary party the Brownies will be serving tea and performing a short entertainment. Anyone with photographs or information on the Brownie pack between those dates can contact Mrs Harding on 01822 613661.
