A TWELVE-year-old boy from Okehampton was taken to hospital suffering from a badly broken leg after being knocked over by a car on Monday. Emergency services were called to the accident outside More newsagents in Fore Street, Okehampton, at 3.45pm. Police and an air ambulance were called and the youngster was taken to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital. A diversion was set up with officers directing traffic until the road was re-opened at 5pm. Police said the initial indication was that the boy had badly fractured his leg but sustained no further injuries.
