FORTUNATELY the weather has greatly improved and 32 eager Tavistock Wheelers cyclists turned up in Bedford Square for the weekly ride.
To celebrate the warmer weather, the Wheelers decided to ride to Lopwell Dam via Gunnislake, Callington, Saltash and Plymouth. There were lots of hills but the coffee and cakes in the cafe at Lopwell Dam made it all worthwhile.
All riders covered more than 40 hard miles but special commendation should go to the Chillaton contingent who clocked up more than 50 miles.
New rider Anthony Wareham hopes to recover the use of his legs before next week's ride and pledges!
The Tavistock Wheelers have smashed all records for the number of riders in any particular month of the year; all the more remarkable for January when water bottles actually froze last week at Okehampton.
