TAVISTOCK Swimming Club competed in the Devon County interclub Gala, against most of the other teams from around Devon. The event was the first to take place in the new Life Centre and all the swimmers were excited about competing in the new facilities.

Competition was fierce and Tavistock finished in 12th position. Fourteen personal best times were achieved over the course of the competition.

Top five finishes were achieved by Kirsty Best in the ladies' open 100m breaststroke; Mike Best in the men's open 100m breaststroke; Kieran Rookes in the boys' 15/under 100m breaststroke and 100m freestyle; Kathryn Stacey in the ladies' open 100m freestyle; Matt Edwards in the men's open 100m freestyle; Emily Attfield in the girls' 13 and under 50m freestyle and Gareth Williams in the men's open 100m butterfly.

Also competing were Beth Thompson, Harry Thompson, Jake France, Jessamy Clemens, Luke Botham, Ieuan Noakes, Luke Stephens, Harriet Edwards, Sarah Teague, Holly Gibbs, Nathaniel Rookes and Chloe Marks.
