THE Devon and Exmoor Sheepdog group held its popular Whitchurch and Sampford Spiney trial at the sports field of Plasterdown last week. The OLF Cup winner was Ged Watson of Postbridge with his dog Sweep. It was not the only win for Mr Watson as his dog Taff won the Novice Maltese Cross with his dog Taff with 67, beating Alan Bennett from Mevagissey with Roy on 52 and S Greenaway from Manaton with Flip on 36pts. In the open Maltese Cross Ged Watson and Sweep won with 83; second was Bob Watson from North Tawton, Max, 79; third and fourth, K J Watson, Postbridge with Matt, 70, and   Harvey, 62, respectively. In the open driving, where 25 dogs ran, first was J Garland of Cwmbran, Wales with Roy on 81; second J Nicholls, Buckland Brewer, Joe 80; third G Watson, Postbridge, Jake 79 and fourth B Watson, North Tawton, Rob 75. The judge was N Dalgamo.
