THREE local athletes who train with the Tavistock Run Project group, took part in the annual Roseland August Trail near St Austell in Cornwall.

It took place along the stunning scenery of the South West coastal path. Sam Lake and Steve Watson represented Tavistock Athletics Club and Jon Eatly also ran the gruelling 20 mile race along a challenging section of coastal path close to St Austell in Cornwall.

Despite the undulating route and many, many steps, the three completed the race. Jon finished in 5 hours 26 minutes.

Steve and Sam completed the race in just over 3hrs 30mins. Sam also achieved a hard fought second lady overall.
