TAVY A managing to get their strongest team out, started the New Year with a thumping 4-1 win in the Tavistock Snooker League over West Devon B which took them into second spot in the table.

The only saving grace for West Devon was a win for Roger Rich who out 'bashed' Roddy Woods. Large scores for Ryall, Hoare and Horrell did the damage, and a 73-2 win for Hicks against John Rich cemented the win. Good breaks of 27 for Ryall and 23 for Horrell capped a thoroughly good performance for Tavy A to start their New Year fixtures off with.

Lowly Conservative C 'handed' Conservative Z a win they hardly deserved. The Con C team's Bassett 'steam rollered' Fitzsimmons including a 25 break on his way.

New Con C player Bundy showed flashes of what he can deliver but was not quite up to breaking Con Z's Morton.

Con Z went one in front with McKechnie edging out Craze in the tightest of black ball finishes. The winning game for Con Z team came courtesy of Dodd who overhauled a 30 lead from Neale by a combination of good fortune and some ill judged shots from Neale. Hoare pulled one back for Con C Team showing what he can and should do more often with a solid win over Symons.
