IT has been a case of success both home and away this weekend, for Tavistock Running Project members Jim Cole and Ben Neale.

First up, Jim Cole ran in the Bideford 10-miler, a competitive but scenic race along the old North Devon rail line, now known as the Tarka Trail. Jim ran really strongly as always, giving his all to achieved third place overall, in a season’s best of 54 minutes and 20 seconds.

‘Away’ this weekend was Ben Neale, making an international debut for TRP. Ben travelled to the United States of America where he was competing in the New York City Marathon. It was a cold, crisp sunny day in New York and Ben ran an excellently paced race to finish in a personal best of 2 hours, 53 minutes and 33 seconds. This is not actually Ben’s first international marathon — he has in fact now completed all five of the original Marathon majors — Chicago, Boston, New York, London and Berlin. An incredible lifetime achievement.

TRP congratulated both of them for their superb efforts.
