South Zeal 7

SOUTH Zeal travelled the short distance to Chagford, for a local derby of pivotal importance for the recently stuttering away side.

On a perfect pitch South Zeal started the stronger with zest and enthusiasm. Redd Cann, Harry Smith and Samuel Jones for Zeal were all commanding and hungry for possession of the ball in the early stages.

Through this dominance South Zeal struck first thanks to poacher Adam Clark, slotting away his 15th of the season. Chagford heads seemed to go down immediately and winger Ryan Dennis soon added a second goal.

Samuel Jones, Ben Davey and Ryan Dennis were now having a lot of joy down the flanks, with precision passing and great movement, which led to the inevitable third being scored by captain and man of the match, Harley Cann, to make it 0-3 at the interval.

South Zeal kept up the momentum in the second half, to ensure the much needed victory was sealed. The fourth goal came after superb play by central midfielder Redd.

Harley Cann was now in irrepressible form and soon completed yet another hat-trick, with a cracking left foot strike down into the corner of the Chagford net, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance.

The right foot of Kieran Anderson slotted Zeal's sixth goal of the match, without any reply from Chagford.

Zeal now played some exquisite passing football, with the midfielders afforded lots of space; Samuel Jones completed the rout, with a fine close range finish.
