The eventt will be raising money for charities Children's Hospice South West and Cancer Research UK including the funding of research projects at Derriford Hospital.
Kit Hegarty, Cancer Research UK Sports team executive: 'The Plymouth Half Marathon is a great way to get fit for 2012, and why not do it for a cause?
'Keeping active can help prevent over 3,000 cases of cancer every year in the UK, and 30 minutes of moderate activity every day can have a positive effect on your health.
'In the new year, why not put your trainers on to raise it, run it, and beat it for Cancer Research UK?'
