Whitchurch seconds fielded a much weakened side against table toppers Bovey Tracey and were well beaten.

Batting first they scored a creditable 186 with Newton (56) being one of the highlights.

In reply Bovey's batting was too strong for the available bowling and they ran out easy winners by seven wickets.
