KELLY College Swim Squad sent 17 swimmers to participate in the second annual ASA South of England zonal championships held at Millfield School, Somerset.

Irish Paralympian, Ellen Keane (16) competed in the multi-discipline events, won four golds and a bronze, with four personal best times. Also competing in the multi-discipline were Michael Jones (17), and Jan Langton (25) from Yelverton, who both won two bronze.

Molly Redford (15) in the 400m freestyle set a new personal best time of 4 minutes 29.96 seconds, which is a new Kelly College age group record and a national qualifying time. Molly took gold in the 800m freestyle.

Charlie Bayliss (18) was first in the 17 years and over 200m butterfly and fifth the 100m fly. Leah Picillo (14) did a personal best time in the 400m individual medley, to take silver in a national qualifying time .

George Humphrey (16) won bronze in the 200m individual medley while Beth Watmore (13) from Mary Tavy made the final of her two events, 100m and 200m breaststroke, placing eighth in both - including a national qualifying time in the latter.

Christy Gold (13) just missed out on her national qualifying time with two great swims in the 100m breaststroke 1.19.99 and 200m breaststroke 2.50.88. Christy had the biggest personal best of the Kelly swimmers over the weekend, taking 7.89 seconds off her 200m breaststroke time.

Other squad swimmers who did well in the event were Matthew Courtis (16), Russell Oliver (17), Lucy Sanderson (17), Erin Walsh (15), Oliver Willis (16), Brittaney O'Reilly (12), Melissa Murdoch (13) and David Colley (15).
