Rentafford 37

Bond Girls 16

RENTAFFORD broke Bond centre passes to go 2-1 up, but Bond broke straight back. Jodie Brent made a tip on circle edge for Ford but the shooters could not convert.

Toni Dustan forced a held ball but again this was not intercepted. Naomi Kent read the play well and forced an error and Sophie Jury converted. Jury playing at GA paired up well with Sarah Streeter in their first match together. After the first quarter Ford took the lead 6-5.

Karen Channon saw the great movment and space made by Streeter in the circle, who took the ball to score. There was great court play from Gemma Cole linking with Helen Veness. While Dustan was reading the passes into the circle making many tips, Brent managed to pick one up and Ford converted. 15-9 Ford in the second quarter.

Veness won a toss up on Bond’s centre pass which was converted by Jury. Ford were now tightening up on their errors and putting pressure on every pass.  Channon was mixing up the pace of the game which Bond found hard to deal with. 24 -12 Ford.

Brent made an excellent intercept to enable Jury to find the net. Kent and Cole both made tips/intercepts which again were converted by Jury.

TT3 14

Saracens 6

ROBYN Hammond kept the ball in play and passed in to Lorraine Hucker who converted. An off side call against Saracens WA was taken and passed into Jordan Tillyer who scored.

Jade Coupland and Sarah Daymond worked well in defence together making intercepts and playing them mid court to Tracey Coupland and Hammond. Hannah Cole passed accurately going into the circle as TT3 put pressure on down court, forcing the errors. At the end of the first quarter it was 5-1 to TT3.

TT3 gave away their centre pass and Saracens took to their circle but the shot was tipped away by Coupland Junior. Daymond made the intercept and ball went to the attack.

Good positioning by Tillyer in the circle at GA saw her work well with Hucker, who made great use of space. Lisa Chamberlain at WD made some good tactical moves in defence watching every ball and timing down the court.

After the second quarter it was 9-3 to TT3.

The attack swung the ball across the circle and used the triangle to pass into Hucker. Daymond flew out at the angle for intercepts in and was getting the ball down court to Coupland senior and Tillyer as the quarter ended 13-5.

A long range shot by Tillyer was missed but she followed up to get the rebound. There was good marking by Hammond in the centre third while Daymond picked up missed shots in the circle.

The game showed the growing team confidence.
