EARLIER this month Bere Alston Trekker Nathan Newton took part in the iron distance triathlon the Outlaw.

Held at Nottinghams National Watersports Centre, this epic event consists of a 2.4 mile lake swim, a 112 mile cycle and a marathon (26.2 mile) run to finish.

With a 6am start and wet and windy conditions this event turned out to be Nathan’s toughest so far. He was hoping to finish in under 12 hours and  his hard training paid off as he just managed to make it with a total finishing time of 11 hours 55 mins and 52 secs.

Nathan thanked his wife Laura for supporting him throughout the event.
