THE last weekend of the Devon County Amateur Swimming Association Championships, held at the The Pyramids, Exeter last weekend included 40 swimmers from Kelly College.

Members of the Kelly team came away with two championship wins, two national qualifying times, five new Kelly age group records, 13 gold medals, 14 silver medals, 19 bronze medals and 132 personal best times:.

The championship wins were by George Humphrey in the 200m individual medley and Charlie Bayliss in the 200m freestyle. There were national qualifying times for Charlie Tod in the 100m backstroke and Leah Picillo in the 200m IM.

New school aged group records were achieved by Cara Layden in the girls U12s 200m fly and 200m IM; Leah Picillo in the U14s 200m free and 200m IM with Nikita Ivanov in the U15s boys in the 50m fly.

Gold medallists were Benjamin Staig, Cara Layden, Leah Picillo, David Colley, Millie Murdoch, George Humphrey, Nikita Ivanov, Sophie Hastings, Charlie Tod and Charlie Bayliss.

Lottie Trevethan swimming in her first Devon Championships won a bronze medal in the girls nine year-old 200m freestyle.
