OKEHAMPTON Flyers tumbling gymnasts had a successful day at the South West club tumbling competition in Sherborne.
Tumbling gymnasts perform three passes of linked floor skills such as round offs and flics down a sprung tumble track, and are marked for qualities such as form and speed.
Florence Stallion achieved a silver medal in the 11-12 girls club level 4 tumbling grade, her first time competing at this level. Mya Lewis came 4th at club level 3, 11-12 girls, in her first competition.
Gracie-Mae Colwill came 4th, Mabel Knight came 6th, Jasmin Vermont came 7th, and Arabella Willcocks came 9th in their new club 2 9-10 female grade.
Lily Mobbs-Marshall achieved a silver medal, with Olivia Garnsworthy coming 5th, with excellent execution, in the club 1, 11-12 girls class.
The club has many more gymnasts preparing for their next gymnastics, trampolining and double mini trampoline (DMT) competition this October.
Thanks to Beth for judging all day so that the gymnasts could compete, Vicki for coaching on the day, and to Beth, Willow and Julie for developing the gymnasts and preparing them for competition.
