EIGHT Kelly College Preparatory School pupils travelled to Plymouth Life Centre on March 3 to compete in the annual Devonport Royal Junior Swimming Gala.

The gala, which attracted 12 schools, consisted 4 x 25m relays. The Kelly Prep's girls' relay team, consisting of Nicole Dunn, Katy Miles, Charlotte Ray and Rebecca Carpenter, raced first. The team held the lead after three lengths and beat second placed Plymouth College to win by a length.

The Kelly boys — Issac Staig, Marcus Coleridge, Matthew Tywman and Jamie Brew were in the lead for the majority of the relay until the last 15m when Stowford School edged passed, meaning the Kelly Prep boys' team finished a respectable second place.

The overall results of the Gala saw Kelly College Prep come in joint first position with Stowford School.
