Heather Fell, Olympic modern pentathlete silver medalist, writes about her life 'on and off' the track.

I am really enjoying autumn now, the nights maybe pulling in and it's getting slightly colder but there are plenty of positives to this time of year — the highlights currently falling on my weekends.

I have a perfect routine at the moment, which is pretty rare in my life and even rarer for it to fall over the weekend due to competitions. The last few Saturdays I've finished my training in the morning and had the afternoon free to watch rugby, I might skip over the recent result for Exeter Chiefs but I must mention the first game I was lucky enough to attend when they comfortably beat last year's premiership champions. I must be getting old now as instead of heading out for a beverage or two with my friends I rush home in order to get my weekly fix on television of sequins, fake tan and general glamour, which thanks to the BBC's 'Strictly Come Dancing' is all from the comfort my sofa.

Sundays I am still part of the crew racing a yacht in Plymouth Sound; I must be doing something right or maybe just nothing so drastically wrong as I seem to have kept my place in the team. It really doesn't cease to amaze me how tired I am after a few hours out on the water; I spend the majority of the time sitting and with the light winds of the last few weeks it hasn't been particularly adrenaline fuelled either but the rest of the day tends to be a right off, or is this just another sign of my age?
