THE Mount Kelly and MCC Foundation cricket programme for year 7, state funded boys, is half way through its ten week winter training.

Sixteen boys from West Devon and East Cornwall are enjoying intensive coaching on all aspects of the game including technical, tactical, strength and conditioning, with game based learning thrown in for fun.

Being one of only 32 Hubs nationally, Mount Kelly have been invited to enter a national hub tournament and are in the process of arranging fixtures with hubs from Exeter and Taunton as well as local County and District teams. A trip to the ‘home of cricket’ Lords is also on offer.

MCCF hub manager and Mount Kelly head coach Brenden Worth said: ‘We are delighted to be working with MCCF on such a high profile programme and the feedback from the boys and parents is fantastic. Thank you to MCCF for providing match shirts, it definitely adds to us all becoming a closer knit team.’
