CONSERVATIVE C returned to winning ways lead by skipper Jago with a 4-1 win over bottom side West Devon D in the Tavistock Snooker League. In a clash of the skippers it was Con C’s Jago who came up trumps with a fine win over Murton.

Neale found his potting touch which West Devon D’s Williams found too hot to handle as Con C went two up. Next a tough black ball game ensued as Bassett edged out WD D’s Decieco in an evenly balanced frame to make the match safe for Con C. Hall then proceeded to make it four for the Con C with a good win over the dangerous Shrimpton (junior).

Grigg pulled a consolation frame back for West Devon C, with his first win of the season, as he capitalised on an uncharacteristic poor run of form from Conservative C’s Davies.

West Devon B ran the Golf A team close as they went down a creditable 2 -3 in a bit of a battle. Bruty put Golf A in front with a close black ball win over Gilchrist, only for Boyd to pull WD B level in another evenly matched game over Doidge.

Arguably the best showing of the night saw Hooper produce another good performance as he inflicted a rare defeat on the Whitley, putting West Devon B’s noses in front.

The lead was brief though as next frame saw Pope tame the enigmatic Roger Rich to pull Golf A level again. That was the turning point for Golf A as Turnbull did not need asking twice to secure the frame, and the match, with a decent 22 break thrown in for good measure.
