CONSERVATIVE A surged up the table in the Tavistock Snooker League to second spot with a 5-0 win over West Devon B — leaving them one point behind Tavy A with a game in hand.

This was no breeze for Con A though as West Devon made them fight all the way and deserved at least a couple of frames on the night.

West Devon's Bath led from the front in his frame with a nice display of potting. Con A's Longden had to pull out all the stops to halt Bath's early potting frenzy and haul him back to take him on a re-spotted black.

Con A's Evans had an easier time as he disposed of May who was not firing on all cylinders. Bell stretched the Con A's lead with a win over Gilchrist after a tight start.

Conservative A's Folley and West Devon's John Rich fought tooth and nail with nothing in the game until the end where a fluked pink in Folley's favour was the only difference between the two.

The five came for the Con's with Carruthers comfortably taking out Smith who could easily have put more pressure on Carruthers, had he taken some of the chances available through the frame.
