NINE members from the Bere Alston Trekkers took part in the Postbridge Challenge last month.
The charity event was organised by the Dartmoor Search ad Rescue Team Plymouth and consisted of a 10 mile, self navigational walk/run.
The route went from Bellever forest car park to Postbridge, Braddon Lake, Broad Down, Hollowcombe Bottom, Lower White Tor, Higher White Tor, Longaford Tor, Powdermills Chimney, Lakehead Hill, Bellever Tor, Laughter Tor, and back to Bellever.
All nine finished despite the freezing conditions and being waist deep in snow at places.
n NATHAN Newton and Francis Dix from the Bere Alston Trekkers braved the freezing weather to run in the Endurance Life Coastal Trail Ultra.
This 34.9 mile race started at Beesands near Kingsbridge and weaved its way around the South Devon coastline down to Prawle Point before heading inland to tackle a few of the infamous Devon hills and then up to Slapton Sands.
The course is contained within an area of outstanding natural beauty and is simultaneously picturesque and punishing.
Both men finished in great times, Nathan 6 hours 31 mins and Francis 7hrs 2mins.
n FELLOW Bats Laura Newton and Karin Kattenhorn took part in the Plymbridge Night Run organised by the National Trust.
The run is a multi-terrain challenge over 5.5 miles. It dips into darkened woods and skirts the edge of the river Plym, winding through trees and up over hills and back down the valley.
Finishers enjoyed a hog roast and received a glow in the dark medal. Both ladies ran together and finished in 1 hour 19 minutes.
