TAVISTOCK Athletic Club is deeply grateful to Tavistock-based RM Builders & Contractors Ltd for sponsoring the club.

The company recently provided benefit in kind by delivering labour and materials cost contribution to repair the leaking equipment storage facility on the club's track at Tavistock College. Pictured are Dene Medland, club treasurer and Rob Moule, owner of the company.

An intrepid TAC runner made a long trip over the weekend to seek both sun and an iconic race.

Hannah Creasy flew to Marbella to take on their half marathon. She found more sun than was expected and, with temperatures peaking at 29degC during the race, she did well to complete in 2hr 25min.

Closer to home, another half marathon on Sunday was the Barnstaple HM. A popular group of events that includes a full marathon and a 10k race, money raised supports Children's Hospice South West.

Club runner Steve Cox ran a great sub-2hr time, finishing in 1:562:44 and finishing 16th in his V50 age category.

In Cardiff on Sunday, TAC junior Freddie Whybrow continued to show stunning form at the SportsShoes Podium 5k where, in the men's elite race, he smashed his goal of a sub-15min time.

He finished in 14:52 and won his U17 age category - positioning him in the national rankings over the distance.

Entries are streaming in for TAC's popular 7-mile race - the Tavy 7 - which takes place at 11am on Sunday 25th October.

TAC training sessions take place on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings and also on a Saturday morning. The main session, and probably the best one to introduce you to the club, is on Tuesday evening.
