TAVISTOCK’S Adam Holland has been busy setting running records again — this time as part of a unique running challenge.

Adam was a member of a team of five runners taking part in the Epic48 fundraiser in Guernsey, running continuously on a treadmill for 48 hours. He broke a number of treadmill records — the world half marathon record, the world record for 50 miles and the furthest distance covered in six hours. In total Adam ran 183 miles.

Adam said: ‘It was a long time to be in one spot. I had hoped to do 145 miles so I’m pleased with my total.’

In total the team ran nearly 700 miles and were spurred on by local people. During the challenge they watched several films to get through the challenge including Forrest Gump and Matilda.

The money raised from the event will be split between This is Epic, the Hub, Dreams Come True and the NSPCC.
