Devon and Exeter senior three Uplowman 0 South Zeal United 0 SOUTH Zeal battled well on Saturday and deserved the point they received from the match. With Adam Cann unavailable Reg Wonnacott made one of his rare starts this season as a replacement for Adam in the Zeal goal and put in a great performance to keep a clean sheet. Zeal probably shaded the first half and created several chances that could have put them ahead, however Uplowman had more of the play after the interval and were only kept out when a firm header from six yards brought a great save from Wonnacott, who tipped the ball onto the bar and cleared the rebound. Although the home side had more of the game in the second half, prompted by Tom Reilly and Harley Cann, Zeal created several good chances as both Scott Hooper and Darren Gilbert went close in the last 10 minutes. Apart from Reg the Zeal defence again performed well with Lee Gilbert having another excellent game. l Next week South Zeal are home to Beacon Knights.
