Sidbury 1

South Zeal Utd 5

SOUTH Zeal eased their way out of the bottom three in the league on Saturday with an emphatic win at fellow strugglers Sidbury.

With Tom Reilly back from injury the Zeal defence was back to normal and it showed as they gave the home side few chances and looked dangerous going forward.

Zeal took the lead after ten minutes when Steve Pillivant was brought down in the penalty area and Nick Pollard converted a twice taken penalty. Zeal went two up when Garry Smith converted from close range after a scramble in the home side's penalty area.

Sidbury pulled a goal back on the half-hour when a cross was converted with a great close range header. Sidbury pushed for the equaliser but Adam Cann made several great saves to keep Zeal ahead at half-time.

In the second half Zeal took control and goals from Steve Pillivant, Harley Cann and Redd Cann sealed a well-earned victory for the away side.

The previous weekend Zeal won at home to Winkleigh in the league 4-2 with goals from Roger White, Harley Cann, Nick Pollard and Steve Pillivant and lost a good game 5-2 at home to Broadclyst in the cup, Harley Cann and Nick Pollard scoring for Zeal.

This week, Colyton away, kick-off 3pm.
