A GROUP that aims to give young people a voice, relaunched last week by showcasing a range of young drama and musical performers. Outloud is the new name for the group formerly known as Okehampton Teens to Tweenies (OTT). The aim of the relaunch in the Charter Hall on Wednesday was to raise awareness of a positive image of young people. Outloud was set up and run by young people and is working to establish itself as a viable support group for young people. The organisation whose members can be aged from 13 to 25 operates out of the Directions youth centre in St James Street, supported by Devon Youth Services. Visitors to the relaunch enjoyed hearing local band Felix, a rap performance and drama courtesy of YANTS from North Tawton. A light buffet was cooked and served by local young people. The next piece of work Outloud will be undertaking is a consultation exercise to find out what young people want the new youth café in the town ?due to open its doors this summer? to look like.
