DELAWARE was transformed into a fashion hot-spot for the evening recently, as the village primary school held a fashion show to raise money for new outdoor play equipment.

The models strutted their stuff down the catwalk in pieces form local designer and parent Ginte Miles, Florence and Fred Clothing and local jewellery shop Purple Penguins.

Florence and Fred Clothing generously gave the school a huge number of pieces from its spring/summer line to model at the fashion show and then auction to raise more funds for the school.

The 32 models included parents, teachers, teenagers and pupils from every class.

Ginte Miles, who creates 'Art from the Heart' products available at http://www.gdesignstudioshop.com">www.gdesignstudioshop.com, was the inspiration behind the event.

She also worked with every child in the younger end of the school — ages four to seven — to put their own design onto a t-shirt. The children drew or painted their designs then worked with Ginte using Photoshop to ensure the best result when transferred to fabric, then added glitter. In the afternoon, the children put on their own mini fashion show and parents bid on their creations.

The fashion show raised £500 for the school's new outdoor play area.

Kate Gee, one of the organisers, said: 'The generosity of Florence and Fred Clothing, local designer Ginte and Purple Penguins has been amazing. We want to provide the best for our children and the support received from this project has provided money for outdoor play equipment they otherwise would not have been able to have. Thank you to everyone who took part.'

More than 70 people attended the show, which was supported by Purple Penguins, Florence and Fred Clothing, The Rifle Volunteer, St Ann's Chapel, Dream Nails and Pengelley.
