A BUSY period for the Okehampton Young Farmers Club has led to them to reach the county final of a talent contest.

Six members of the group took part in the Haldon Group 'Five Minutes of Fame' contest, performing an 'Okehampton's Got Talent' singing performance.

Beating four other clubs, they performed at the Exmouth Pavilions on February 19 in the 'Devon YFC's Let Me Enetertain You!' contest. The Okehampton team took fifth place on the night.

The club has also been involved in a number of fundraisers, raising £500 for the Make-a-Wish Foundation.

Okehampton mayor Maureen McDonald collected the cheque from the group to pass on to the organisation.

They have also been raising money for the Devon Air Ambulance Trust with a dung run, bagging up dung and delivering it to those who order it.

That has raised over £500 so far, and the group will make their deliveries on February 24 and 25.
