ARE you ready for the Dartmoor Challenge?
Local charity Hospiscare is looking for people to take part in an action packed weekend on Dartmoor.
Teams from across the South West will be taking part in the Dartmoor Team Challenge 2004 to raise money for their local hospice.
The weekend, which includes mountain biking, navigation, canoeing, gorge scrambling and night orienteering, will culminate with a 'tough guy' endurance challenge race, when teams will face scramble nets, mud crawls and balance beams.
Joanne Wearne, Hospiscare's community fundraiser said: 'You don't have to be a He-man to take part in the challenge, but you do need to be reasonably fit. You'll also need a big dose of grit, determination and team spirit.'
She continued: 'It would be great if we could put as many teams forward as possible for Hospiscare and get a real competition going. I can guarantee it will be a fun-filled weekend, and you will also be raising money for a vital cause — your local hospice.'
The event takes place takes place from June 11 to 13 2004 in Dartmoor National Park — the perfect setting for a weekend of adventure.
Hospiscare is looking for teams of four. To enter, all you need is a £200 registration fee, and a minimum sponsorship. All accommodation and events costs are included.
Closing date for entries is January 30 2004. For further details contact Joanne Wearne. Tel: 01392 688062.
