THE OCKMENT Rivers Improvement Group have praised all the people who helped with the work in improving a footpath at Mill Bridge in Okehampton recently.

Chairman of the group Cllr Christine Marsh said this was a great example of people working together to improve the town.

'Without all these people we would not have achieved it and I would like to thank Ross Campbell who saved our aching backs by proving the labour and machinery, Aggregates Industries for supplying the materials and Paul Sutton for the vehicle to transport it,' she said.

Cllr Marsh also thanked the Okehampton Rotary Club for its donation of £200 and architect Peter Woodgate for keeping them all on line.

The footpath is situated behind the old gasworks in Park Row and leads to Mill Road.
