Tavistock CFC U18s 1

Looe Town U18s 2

TAVISTOCK started the game strongly with early efforts from Matt Havron and Louis Wilson going close. Looe also tried to apply pressure but never troubled Cadan Lowther, Sam Walker, Adam Higson and Jack Quinn in the Tavistock defence.

Having seen one shot come back off the crossbar, Alex Mayne fired a lovely shot across the Looe keeper to give Tavistock the lead, and the woodwork soon proved itself to be Looe's best defender as it blocked three more shots from Mayne and one from Wilson.

Tavistock were going to rue their missed chances when in the second half Looe started to assert themselves and took control of the game. Despite making a superb debut, there was nothing goalkeeper, Brad Monk could do as two quick strikes saw Looe in the ascendancy.

Pavel Drobek, Jack Haigh, and Zak Musson worked hard to drag Tavistock back into the game and chances were squandered by Ethan Edwards and Wilson, before the woodwork came to the rescue again, preventing Walker grabbing a deserved equaliser.

Friary Mill FC 3

Horrabridge Rangers 2

FRIARY Mill started the brighter using the slope to good affect and played some nice passing football. The visitors defended superbly especially centre-backs Will Glanville and Jack Northam aided by some smart goalkeeping by Oliver Cox meant Horrabridge were always in the game.

The visitors took the lead after 30 minutes when Tom Wright's 20 yard strike was well saved by the goalie, from the resulting corner, Harry Eaton and Courtney Fry linked up well to cross the ball for Josh Birch to powerfully head home from 10 yards.

The second half was a much more even encounter with both teams having good spells in the half. Horrabridge doubled their lead 10 minutes into the half when Taylor Kingham provided Josh Birch with a pin-point through-ball and Birch made no mistake in rounding the keeper to score. Ten minutes later Friary Mill were pulled one back from a penalty for handball. Friary then added two more goals in five minutes thanks to two superb strikes from 20 yards. Rangers played some outstanding football but Friary's goal-keeper was in top form denying Birch, Northam, Wright and Eaton.

Tavistock Town U13s 4

Plymouth Kolts U13s 3

TOWN show no fear against a big Kolts side and from the start both teams committed themselves to their challenges.

The Kolts took the lead after five minutes but Town responded by raising their game and were rewarded when Nathan Dodd equalised after 12 minutes.

It was Town who took the lead through Cameron Heard after 20 minutes. With both sides giving 100%. With Kolts equalising  2-2 after 25 minutes the remainder of the first half saw plenty of chances at both ends but it was Town who found the net first with Charlie Barriball slotting home from a cross putting Town 3-2 ahead at half time.

Ten minutes into the second half Sam Parsons found the back of the net giving Town a deserved 4-2 lead.  Kolts grabbed their third goal with only ten minutes remaining but with Bert Rodgers and Jack Piper at the heart of Town's defence Kolts were unable to find their way through giving Town a much deserved victory.

Tavistock Thistles 4

Phoenix City 1

THISTLES dominated much of the possession and created many chances, but nerves were only settled when Nathan Ord put them ahead after a fine through ball from Alistair Spicer. Shortly after Alistair Spicer scored perhaps the 'goal of the season' - as the ball dropped to him on the edge of the six yard box and with his back to goal he executed an audacious backheel flicking the ball into the top corner – a memorable goal at any level of football.

Phoenix City soaked up pressure and playing well on break and Thistles' goalkeeper Edward Nettleship pulled off a couple of fine saves to maintain the two-goal advantage.

The defence of Ben Roberts, Charlie Phipps, Harry Cole and James Bartlett performed well, Jack Easton controlled the middle of the park with Nathan Ord and Rory Metcalf playing left and right always providing options.

In the second half Phoenix pulled one back however Alistair Spicer scored another for Thistles' shortly after, and George Andrews and Kyle Newman-Marks combined well up front to secure the fourth.
