A TOTAL of 250 trees were planted in the second phase of the Roadford Celebration Woodland last week.

South West Lakes Trust staff were joined by Duchy College students for the task, and conservation officer Neil Reeves ran a session on 'tree planting and establishment' during the day.

October 2009 saw the launch of the new woodland at Roadford Lake, a project jointly supported by South West Water, Natural England and South West Lakes Trust.

Trees have been donated for a variety of reasons — a dedication book is hosted in Lakeside Café for special messages and remembrance.

Some 224 trees were planted in the first phase including a mixture of English oak, rowan, ash, hazel and hawthorn.

Trees can still be donated for a minimum of £20; for information go to http://www.swlakestrust.org.uk">www.swlakestrust.org.uk
