STICKLEPATH Fireshow are on the lookout for secondhand building timber to ensure this year?s stage construction in November makes for a show every bit as spectacular as in previous years. Fireshow committee member Bev Hilton said: ?As everyone will appreciate we use a vast quantity of wood in the build each year and the better quality it is, the more spectacular we can make the show. ?In particular we need lengths of timber six feet or longer that are at least three inches by three and sections of plywood ? again the bigger the better.? Each Bonfire Night, the village hosts an eye-catching fireshow complete with masks, puppets, music and an exciting story. Fireshow volunteers can arrange to collect wood from members of the public, who may call Bev Hilton on 01837 840257. Organisers would also appreciated it if people can contact the fireshow first before delivering any wood direct to the site. Bev Hilton said due to new regulations, organisers could not infill the build with lots of waste material, wood or otherwise. She said: ?This means that we can no longer take garden waste, trees, masses of rotten timber, old furniture or window frames and certainly not anything like old mattresses or toxic items such as foam, polystyrene or any type of plastic. We hope the community understand this and accept that out hands are tied and that we can basically only accept good, useable wood.?
