TAVISTOCK College pupil Mike Fowler, 14, played in goal for the winning team in this year?s English Schools football association Wizards U15s? national championships.

Mike played his part between the posts for the Plymouth Schoolboys team in two final matches against Cambridge ? helping his side to victory in the tournament by 5-4 on aggregate.

It is the first time in the competition?s 95-year history that a West Country team has taken the title. Both team coaches, Huw Morgan and Leigh Underyay, are PE teachers at Tavistock College.
