Okehampton Men?s Hockey Club 4 PGOSB 0 OKEHAMPTON Men?s Hockey Club continued their winning streak this week with a decisive win at Stonehouse Barracks. Within a few minutes they settled down and focussed on the game in hand. With the absence of Mark Clapham, Mike Reynolds took up the defensive role alongside John Jarvis and Dave Dennis. Simon Garland took control of Okehampton?s offensive and with help from Richard Jones, Keith Webber and Paul Feehan he was soon aggravating the opposing defence, who were not prepared for the onslaught that followed. The first goal came from Garland, whose skill and control let him sneak through to put the ball in the net. The second goal came shortly afterwards, after a shot by Garland deflected into the path of Jeff Stevens, who slotted it past the keeper. Not to be outdone by this display of confidence Keith Webber took possession of the ball on the halfway line and ran past three players and the keeper to make it three nil. Okehampton had a string of scoring opportunities after that, but failed to capitalise, until Garland shot home the fourth. PGSOBs attempted a comeback with a shot that just crept past Okehampton keeper Andy Harvey but was cleared by man of the match Mike Reynolds.
