A TAVISTOCK rugby player got to play in Manchester's new Commonwealth Stadium, when he represented Devon at the Commonwealth Games 'Super-10s' tournament last week.
Fifteen-year-old Will Brown was selected for the county under-15 rugby squad to compete in the 48-team championship.
The team won through the first group stage, after beating Derbyshire and Leicestershire twice each and Surrey.
Devon lost to arch rivals Cornwall, but their other results were good enough to earn them the chance to run out at the inspiring new Commonwealth Stadium.
The team eventually went out of the competition after losing to Suffolk in a game played in the new stadium.
Tavistock College pupil Will plays as flanker in full 15-a-side rugby, but plays in the second row for the Super-10 team.
