'WITH Christmas firmly behind us and 2011 stretching ahead it is time to take to the track,' said local athletics coach Dotty Allan.

'Whether you want to get fit, lose weight, make friends, improve your current running technique and/or times or just want to give running a go then there is a session for you.'

The track sessions coached by UK Athletics level three coach, Dotty Allan, start again in earnest in the next few weeks.

The ladies only sessions re-start on Saturday on 9.30am till 10.30am.

The men only sessions re-start on Monday, January 17 between 8.15pm to 9.15pm.

All sessions are open to all abilities and beginners can join at any time.

The sessions cost £2 (unless you are a member of Tavistock Athletics) and all proceeds go towards the track maintenance fund, you are more than welcome to drop in and out of these sessions to suit your lifestyle - you only pay when you train. All abilities are catered for.

These sessions will be geared towards the training schedule designed for the Tavy 13 which takes place on Sunday, April 10. Those joining in do not have to run the Tavy 13 or any races to come along and train.

Dotty can also provide training schedules for other races and distances and these can be tailor-made for you, free of charge.

Help and advice is available during all training sessions and individual coaching will be given regardless of group size.
