I WAS very upset to discover the dog restriction signs that appeared in Okehampton's Park just a few weeks after the 'Castle Security Patrol' signs were er­ected.

Trying to make everyone  keep their dogs on a lead will only cause unnecessary stress/anger to all the vast majority of considerate people and their dogs. The 'couldn't care less' attitude of the offenders will continue whether the dogs are on or off the lead.

Why inflict this on us when it won't solve the problem? There are so many terrible things going on in our world, so many violent,destructive people and Okehampton has the bright idea of stressing out a peaceful section of the community.

I am a considerate, law abiding, tolerant person, as, I am sure, the majority of dog owners are, and people generally — why cause so much upset?
