TWO Devon FA referee's — Allen Lewis from Tavistock and James Taylor from Plymouth had the honour of being chosen by the FA to be match officials in the 2011-2012 Season Cerebral Palsy National leagues.
150 referees from all over the United Kingdom applied for the opportunity to officiate these wonderful footballers who overcome their disabilities to play quality and imaginative football and 25 were chosen.
James, who has a brother with Aspergers Syndrome and Allen who has a disabled child with Autistic Spectrum Disorder both understand the problems that can arise from working with people who are less fortunate than ourselves, so it was a bonus for them for them in their applications. Two Championship referees Keith Stroud and Kevin Wright applied to the Cerebral Palsy football to help raise the profile on a national scale.
