AN innovative method of transport aimed at making lake trips more easy for disabled people is now set to be even more attractive. The Wheelyboat, based on Roadford Lake, now has even lower hiring costs for prospective day trippers. The boat, which has a drop-down bow ramp, allows easy access onto the boat for people in wheelchairs, or who have difficulty walking, and is specifically available for those with long-term or temporary disabilities and their carers or friends. The cost to hire the boat is £10 per half-day and £20 per whole day, with the maximum number on the boat being ten, which can include up to four wheelchairs.
