It was a busy weekend for members of the Okehampton Cycle Club.

Last Saturday saw three club members take part in the Plymouth Corinthians Cycle Club open 10 mile time trial series on A38 road at Buckfastleigh.

There was a large field of 90 riders and on a calm evening Jamie Fabrizio achieved a personal best time of 22.11 minutes, which placed him in 19th position. Emily Adkin was second fastest lady.

Finishing times: J Fabrizio, 22.11; Emily Adkin, 24.51; S Perrett, 26.03.

On the following day there was a good turn out of club members taking part in the Tavistock Wheelers sporting 25 course. This is a demanding course which starts from the lay-by at the top of Wringworthy Hill, which climbs up to the moor and proceeds to Fowley Cross roundabout and back.

A massive downpour of rain made for soggy riding conditions.

Finishing times: J Fabrizio, 1.03.46; M Cory, 1.08.08; T Bridgman, 1.08.22; G Sprague, 1.09.43; Jacky Rice, 1.10.56; M Chave, 1.14.05; Emily Adkin, 1.14.33; C Hariades, 1.14.52; T Johnston, 1.19.14; M Rice, DNF (puncture).

On the previous Sunday club members took part in Exeter Wheelers 17 mile time trial event starting from Topsham to Woodbury Common and returning to the finish near Westpoint.

Finishing times: J Fabrizio, 37.03; Emily Adkin, 43.06; Jacky Rice, 44.04; M Rice, 44.28.
