I AM sure I can't be the only person who was dismayed to read in last week's Okehampton Times that Okehampton Town Council is spending £14,000 on a sculpture to enhance the St James street area.
The play area in Simmons Park has been losing items of equipment over the last few years. Surely replacing all the equipment that has been removed would enhance our town and cause far more happiness to the children than a statue?
