MORE THAN 100 generous Tavistock residents attended a 'Come For A Cuppa' party in Tavistock recently.

The event, held on February 15 at Tremayne Rise, raised an amazing £475.85 in aid of Diabetes UK (South West).

Pat Hoar, who organised the event, which lasted from 10am until 6pm, said: 'It was a fantastic day, well beyond my expectations, and its success was due to the wonderful support I received from friends, family and neighbours —particularly Debbie, Theresa and Dorothy, who did sterling work all day.

'Special thanks too go to our mayor, Mandy Govier, who gave an illuminating insight into the condition of diabetes.'
