A village fair has been resurrected after a gap of 20 years.
Teignton Fair returns to the village of Drewsteignton on June 3 to celebrate the millennium — and the committee of eight organisers have been working hard to make the event a success.
Margaret Vile said: 'All the proceeds will go to local charities — we haven't decided which ones yet but we want it to benefit local people.
'We've really worked to get this off the ground, and it's being opened by one of the farmers in the area who was on one of the first fair committees, Henry Scott.'
To keep the youngsters amused there is a fancy dress competition and children's carnival.
There is also a skittles competition, a Sumo wrestling competition, around 19 different stalls and refreshments including a hog and lamb roast.
'The specialities are gooseberry pasties and pigs' ears — they're actually shortbread shaped like pigs ears!' said Margaret.
Music is being provided in the form of a live band, Catch 22, in addition to Okehampton Brass Band and one-man band Michael Jackson.
Festivities start at 6pm and go on until midnight.
