THE Tavistock Golf Club ladies played the monthly stableford on June 7. The winners were: Division 1 Wendy Wroe with 37 points; Division 2 Rosemary Rea with 36 points and Division 3 Barbara Chalk with 40 points. The Challenge Bowl 36 hole medal was played on June 14 and 17. Sally Timpson won the first round with a net 68, runner up Pattie Congo with net 69. Ginnie Samborne won the second round with net 70, runner up Brigit Luckham with net 71. The Challenge Bowl was won by Ginnie Samborne with a total net score of 143, runner up Pattie Congo with a total of 145. Beverley Ruth won the Patty Turnbull Trophy for the best gross score with 168, runner up Nicky Gawman with 170. The Extra Medal was played on June 17 and the winners were: Division 1 Brigit Luckham with net 71, runner up Gloria Westhead, net 73. Division 2 Ginnie Samborne, net 70, runner up Pattie Congo, net 75. Wendy Wroe won the Cooper Trophy with net 70, runner up Nicky Gawman with net 72. The Bronze and Silver Open was played on June 21. The Scratch Silver and Molly Muirhead Trophy was won by Belinda McSherry with a gross 84. The Scratch Bronze and Molly Muirhead Trophy was won by Val Macrone of Wrangaton with a gross 92. The Captain prize for best handicap score for a Tavistock player in the Silver Division went to Shirley Trevena and in the bronze division to Sue Bailey. In the Silver Division the first prize was won by Shirley Trevena with net 71, second Gill Whitelock of Staddon, net 72, third Nicky Gawman, net 72, fourth Jane Wright of Staddon, net 73, fifth Stevie Foster of Wrangaton, net 75. In the Bronze Division the first prize was won by Di Reardon of Yelverton with net 73, second Sue Bailey with net 74, third Enid Whiteman of Bigbury with net 74, fourth Pattie Congo with net 74, fifth Lyn Alderman with net 75. The Front Nine prizes were won by Silver Division, Marylin Allen with net 35, Bronze Division Jean Davies of Stover with net 36. The Back Nine prizes were won by Silver Division Bridget Luckham with net 36, Bronze Division Ann Martyn with net 35.5. The Silver Bowl awarded for the best net handicaps 24 and under was Val Macrone of Wrangaton with net 70.
