TAVISTOCK Golf Club ladies? section held their team dinner last month when captain Wendy Hanwell presented the Val White Caddies Trophy to Grace Tucker for the best stableford score during the last golfing year.
The winner of the LGU Pendant at Tavistock Golf Club, awarded for the best nett score in the ladies? September medal competition, was Shirley Trevena with a nett 69.
The qualifying round for the Daily Mail Foursomes was played on October 29 and won by Judy Harris and Anthea Kelsey with 37 points.
In the November stableford the division 1 winner was Sharon Williams with 35 points. Division 2 was won by Dawn Gawman, 35 points, and division 3 by Helen Rendle, 29 points.
Thanks to a window in the weather the Poultry Medal was played at the second attempt on December 3. Results: Division 1, Jenny Hutchison (nett 71), Victoria Coe (nett 73), Bev Ruth (nett 75). Division 2, Lynn Swift (nett 77), Lesley Gibson (nett 79), Anthea Kelsey (nett 80). Division 3, Peggy Burge (nett 73), Jane Scourse (nett 77), Chris Kelly (net 78).
Shirley Trevena had the best front nine score (36.5) and the best back nine was won by Rosemary Rea (38).
l In Tavistock Golf Clu??s Christmas Bottle Trot, Alan Gawman had the best gross score of 68, and yet he does not appear as the winner in Division 1. Nevertheless the three section winners were: Division 1, M Ingram, 70 (nett); division 2, K Rich, 69; division 3, G Gibbon, 74.
