OKEHAMPTON travelled to Sidmouth in really bad conditions with non stop rain pouring down. With such weather to play any decent hockey and the game started scrappily. The away team looked the more likely to open the scoring with Luke Miller going close and Mark Parsons putting wide. The hosts battled well without creating any real chances, then Okehampton took the lead when an excellent ball by Bret Lawson was concerted by Parsons.
Okehampton were awarded a penalty flick which Luke Miller converted to double their lead at half time.
The second half was one way traffic as the visitors dominated, Lawson getting the third after good work from Simon Bourne, who then got on the score sheet himself. Debutant Andrew Parsons then added a fifth before Tim Morgan scored his first of the season.
